Sheriff Jeremy Fleming and the Dickenson County Sheriff’s Office would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy 4th of July weekend and holiday! The Sheriff's Office will be closed Mon July 3rd and Tues July 4th in observance of Independence Day.
On 06-12-23, a Deputy was patrolling on Doctor Ralph Stanley Hwy when a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle. A 4th Amendment waiver search was conducted on the vehicle where items were located. One person was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of possession of Schedule II Controlled substance.

Set a good example. Adults who don’t buckle up are sending children the message that it is all right to not wear a seat belt. Children model adult behavior. 70 percent of the time that a driver is unbuckled, you can bet that the children riding in that vehicle aren’t buckled either.
